Being Friends With an Ex is Not Impossible

Being Friends with An ExCan you be friends with your ex after a breakup? Its one question that people asked after a failed relationship and the answer is yes, you and you can be friends. It’s actually a good thing that you are friends with your ex-girlfriend, it could give you a chance for reconciliation. So how can you be friends with her again? These are the following ways to do it.

Being Friends With an Ex Tip #1: Forgive each other and move on. If you want to be friends with your ex-girlfriend than for whatever the reason of the breakup, it’s time to leave the past in the past. It’s time to move on now and stop talking about what happened between you guys with her. Leave the past behind and move on with your future. There’s no use of fighting about it all over again.

Being Friends With an Ex Tip#2: Accept that the romantic relationship you have with her is over. Accept that she’s no longer your girlfriend and that the relationship is over. Completely let her go and accept that you can only be her friend. The main reason why most guys want to be friends with their girlfriend after a breakup is that because they want to eventually become more than friends. Understand that it’s over now and it’s no use getting jealous when you see her with someone new, instead accept that she’s no longer your girlfriend. I’m sure she’ll do the same thing if you have a new girlfriend.

Being Friends With an Ex Tip# 3: Be patient. Everything takes time to heal. If your ex-girlfriend doesn’t like the idea of being friends with you then you have to respect her decision. Her decision may change over time when time heals the pain of the breakup. It would be hard to be friends with your ex-girlfriend immediately after a breakup because the wounds are still fresh. Make sure that all your hurt and pain is gone before you start being friends with her.

Being Friends With an Ex Tip#4: Don’t call or text her all the time. Now that your friends with her, don’t call or text her all the time. It would only make you look desperate and that’s not a good sign. Instead of bringing you closer to her she might push you away again. So keep your distance and just call or talk to her now and then.

Being Friends With an Ex Tip#5: The last thing you can do on how to be friends with your ex-girlfriend after a breakup is to treat her like any other friend that you have. She’s not your girlfriend anymore so don’t give her any special attention. Just treat her like the way you treat any platonic relationship. Treating her like any other friend can help you guys get past that weird and awkward phase of learning to be just friends.

Try not to become friends just for the sake of getting back together (you will never get over her if that’s the case). If you guys do manage to become good friends than good for you! She still has those same qualities that made you want to get to know her better in the first place.  If you guys can’t get to the “just friends” stage, than it’s probably better for you to move on and continue with your life without her in it. You did it before was in your life, you can do it again.
