How to Mend a Broken Heart Tip #1: it is important that you keep your mind off of this girl completely. It is hard at the beginning so allow yourself a couple of days to cry and feel the pain and mourn the loss of your relationship. Don’t deny your feelings; let them out. After that go through your apartment and collect everything that belonged to her or reminds you of her. Any clothes she left behind, photographs, anything that has to do with her.

Pack the photos where it’s just her (not with you), her clothes, and all of her stuff neatly into a box and mail it to her. Packing her stuff and sending it to her by mail will let your subconscious mind know that it is over and that you accept that it is over. So get this done, take a long , warm shower, put on some nice clothes and get on with your life. You’ll feel immediately better afterward.

How to Mend a Broken Heart Tip #2: finding an interesting hobby is something you can do to keep busy on your free time. There are probably quite a few things you have wanted to do or learn about that you have not had the chance to do. Now is a good time to look into these things. These may include reading a couple of books you haven’t had the time to get around to, or taking some classes. Maybe a martial arts class or joining a soccer team. Sitting around watching television will not help, so don’t even think about it. This just leaves you stuck in the house feeling bad about life.

Go for a walk or go to a ball game. A stroll through the park or a visit to a museum are great ways to get your mind of things. Try to keep yourself busy doing positive things not just “hanging out.” Exercise will also help you get rid of some of the stress and pressure the breakup has put on you. Hitting a punching bag at the gym or lifting weights takes a lot of frustration and anger out of your system. Exercise is also good for you so you will be killing two birds with one stone.

How to Mend a Broken Heart Tip #3: take off for the weekend, go somewhere peaceful where you can relax and enjoy nature or something like that. Do not go on a binge and party at clubs in a drunken stupor. Stay away from women for a while, wait until the hurt and freshness of the breakup have started to dissipate. You do not want to unload all your emotional baggage on someone else or inadvertently hurt them in some way.  When possible, it is a good idea to take a real vacation, get on a plane and go somewhere you have never been to. See the sights and enjoy going on a new adventure.

Keep in mind that “one nail does not drive out another nail”. Do not go out into the world crazy and eagerly looking for another woman to fill your ex’s place. This is now how to mend a broken heart. It only masks your real pain and will only end up in disaster and you will probably hurt this new person. Take it easy and regain your confidence and inner peace, once this is done, it is okay to start looking for a new girlfriend.
